We started JPM Live Academy to help wedding filmmakers break out of the conventional mold and embrace a new approach — documentary-style wedding films. But wedding videographers aren’t the only ones who can learn from our founder, Justin Porter. From pre-production to post-production techniques, Justin covers a wide range of topics that can be applied to any filmmaking project, in any genre, for filmmakers at beginner and intermediate levels.

Tons. We’ve been saying “we” a lot, but it’s only Justin and his wife Cassandra running things behind the scenes. This isn’t yet another course where a teacher lures you in and leaves you hanging. Justin facilitates every live workshop and most group mentor sessions personally (except when we have guest experts), and is responsive inside the community forum. Expect him to know your name, know your story, and be cheering you on.

We don’t make boring wedding films, so you better believe we also don’t make boarding course videos. By hosting our workshops and mentor sessions live each week, we are creating an immersive, interactive learning environment for you.

Not a problem. All of our live workshops are recorded (yup — even the Q&A section) and produced into more digestible video modules that are uploaded to our premium content library. Whether you couldn’t make it live because of a time zone issue, or you’re a new member hoping to watch past workshops or mentor sessions, we’ve got it all on film.

Most def! We know how important it is to get feedback on your work. Our wedding film critiques are offered every other month. Justin is a straight-shooter and will give you honest but kind feedback designed to help you grow as a filmmaker, refine your craft, and create exceptional films.

Yes, there is an iOS app for Apple iPhone users. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can still access the academy on your phone via the regular website, which was built to be responsive for mobile.

Canceling your membership is easy. Just log in to your account and follow the cancellation process outlined on the platform. You will still have access to the academy until the end of your billing cycle.
