Good evening, all. I'm based in the UK! I've been watching Justin's fantastic content for a while, inspiring me to take the plunge. I will buy a camera, lenses, lighting, mics, and a drone. Based on my research, including on this page and Justin's videos, I've decided on the Lumix S5iix with a Lumix S 24 -105mm lens F4, a 35mm 1.8, Ace 25c/x comic VM40, and probably the deity PR2. I will be solo shooting, to begin with.

I'd happily take any advice on the above.

Finally, if you could have told yourself something before you began, what would that be?

Thank you for reading.

I just want to say thank you to everyone in here who gave me advice going into my first wedding of the year and the first in this reality tv style. The couple absolutely loved it. I think it came out pretty good but watching Justin’s films I know I still have a lot of learning and growing to do 😂 thank y’all again for calming me down a bit and building me up going into it helped a lot. If you have any spare time and would like to watch it and give me some constructive criticism I’d appreciate it!

I’m using a NAS DS1522+ and looking for the best NAS storage drive. What drives would you recommend for reliability, performance, and recommended storage size? How do you access your video files remotely when you’re away from the office to continue editing on the go?

Thank you in advance!

So this is my first trailer for my first ever reality tv style wedding film. I think I did a good job with the story telling of it but I am not thrilled about my camera work at all lol. They love it so I guess that’s what really matters. Maybe because I compare it to Justin’s I don’t know. I’m trying to do the best I can with my Panasonic g7 until I can upgrade. So please give me tips and constructive criticism on how to get the most out of my camera please. PS - Ik I didn’t hide mics well. I was panicking because I didn’t have leg straps and I didn’t want to take much of their time so I just threw them on but I will be better about that in my next one for sure. It cuts off the last 11 seconds but you get it 😂

Update on the day: I had my first mishap of the year. I went to set up my drone last and realized my cable to connect the controller to my phone was missing so I figured no big deal I’ll buy one before I get there. Bought the wrong cord 🤦‍♂️ and no store around has it, so no drone shots today. My heart hurts 😂

It’s late and I hope someone sees this lol. I’m going to film my first wedding of the year and the first one I’ve ever filmed in this documentary style tomorrow. I’m so nervous 😂 I’m going in with my camera, gimbal, drone, and a DIY light diffuser and reflector, and 2 deity pr2s. That being said what’s some last minute tips or advice to go into tomorrow with to feel more comfortable?

I’ve just picked up the zoom F3 to run as a float for my shotgun mic on my rig problem is I can’t work out where to put it so that the rig remains balanced. If I put it between the screen and the V mount it throws the weight off if I put it on the top handle it becomes top-heavy and I also then can’t use the easy rig. Has anyone come up with a clever idea or if you wanna share pictures of your rigs for some rig-spiration I’d be grateful!

Anybody use Vidflow for both video and photos? I've been having a lot of issues with photo-related uploads/downloads.

Hey everyone, besides lav mics. What would you think is the best way to mic this setup would be?

Edit - it’s the request from the people to not use lav mics.

Yesterday was my first time filming a wedding solo and, while I think it went well, there’s definitely a lot I feel like I could improve on. Do y’all have any general tips for solo, documentary-styled wedding filming?
