I used them to get audio from DJs or put lavs on people directly. Can even have people talk directly to them for reception interviews

32 bit float recorders. They’ve been my best friend when it comes to getting audio in a pinch. They have color bands glued on to help tell them apart since I kept forgetting which ones I packed.
I still use one with a concealed strap on a mic for toasts to get crispy audio since it’s super close to the speaker’s mouth. I just don’t need to have 3 anymore
